Southbank Hampstead has replaced traditional paper-based portfolios with digital technology - all students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 are currently engaged in developing their own websites to share their learning.

Assistant Principal, Stuart Bain, explains: "The advantages of e-portfolios are many - fostering active learning, motivating students, being channels for feedback and discussion of student performance. E-portfolios are readily accessible and can store multiple media such as digital photos, video and audio clips. They provide a natural vehicle for the integration of technology and crucially for a school such as ours, they are easy to share with friends and family around the globe." The use of e-portfolios is also kinder on the environment, dramatically reducing the amount of paper used by the students and staff.
