How to do claymations and how to make websites more detailed.

Hey,
I think that the students should be taught how to type faster, use internet safley, get free tv shows on internet, but to most importantly have them decide because our choices will probably not be what they want to learn. I would suggest that at the beginning of the year you ask them what they have already learnt and what they want to do and following that, you decide on the subjects.
That is all,

Ps: do not try to teach them how to write a website because, no offence, i did not learn much doing that.

the new 6th grade should learn how to create stick figure movies and how to protect file information. We should improve on creating movies and how to be protected against hacking and learning more about it so we do not try because of peer pressure

I think that generaly we have covered everything that I expected you cover. For further research I think we should learn how to use other technical appliances then computers, such as phones and show us how they work, what you are able to do..etc.

If we are to remain on the computers then I think we should enquire more into how they work, possibly.. meaning systems in the computer.

Another thing, I do not think that it is an obligation, but we could do claymation (what ever its called) I think it could be fun! :)

Ok well thats all I can come up with in the meantime.

Information Technology is where we learn about technology and how to use it. For instance, we learned how to make a website, and storyboarding. Out of all the things we learned, I think that iweb, and making the website would be the most worth while for the next 6 graders to learn because besides learning about the different codes and setup, you are also having fun. They should also learn to protect their information from hackers.

just wondering. if we were to make claymations where would we do the clay figures and if we do it, can we please work in partners to make the movie?
in my old school we did it like this:
art class we made clay
Then. we made the script of our story and filmed the movie
we did it in partners of 3 or 4 and also learned 2 work 2gether alot and i ryl had fun
could we pleaseeeee do that?????

OK. So. I wanna learn about... ummm... something about the stuff we did at like the beginning of the year, the stuff with the school photos. You know, the copying the features of other kids. And doing websites with fun stuff. Without the writing out the webpages. If it's possible. And yeah, umm... what else... oh yeah. Something to do with filming. So that's basically all.

No more hacking, if it is to learn how it is bad and that u shouldnt do it there is no point. We should lean things that will be of use later on.

I think children in 6th grade should be taught many different things in Information technology. These things should be things we could use in the future (future meaning any where in the next 20 years). Making websites and writing in Subethaedit was definetly somthimg we could us later in life. One thing we could do in class is learning how to make podcasts and putting them on the internet (also you could do songs on garage band, but this isn't as educational). Another fun activity is to more things with Photo Elements (2.0) as lots of people nowadays use this daily. Touch-Typing is also a useful skill, but I don't really know any typing games age-appropiate for 6th grade.

I highly agree with the my fellow 6th graders words of wisdom have said. I think we should learn about Claymation because it sounds very interesting to learn all about the different aspects of animation. We watched alot of cartoons but knowing whats behind the scenes of it sounds very interesting.
As far as the new six graders go. though i did not do the iWeb or the other activicites the grade did before the second semester, i've heard it was very interesting as well. Maybe leaving the VisiBadge project out of the curriculam would be better and time saving for other projects because the Comic Life program is very self explainatory.

Jim- I forgot to add one thing that I think the 6th graders should learn... for the sake of fun... i think they should learn how to work photoshop. It may not be the most educational, but they should enjoy it!

I would like to also inquire into what the other sixth graders did last year becasue there may be something interesting hat could be of use and importance.
The next sixth graders should do what we have done meaning te use of the different subjects and hacking... etc. But also, especialy that a few of them will come from hamstead and kensignton, so half of the population in school will alerdy know about half the stuff.
I dont have nay 'brigth' ideas so far to as what they could be tought, but im just making a point hahahah

What are claymations? So basically i wanna do something with photos, copying the features from 1 photo to another etc. and how to make web pages for fun and stuff and something with graphics and designing stuff and some basic stuff about computers like how to create firewalls etc. I think the lessons have been pretty good. for the next 6th grade i think they should get to say a little about what the want to do and then you could choose the most popular suggestion.
IT is basically learnng how to use, stay safe and take care of computers.

Claymations are basically little clay things tat u can build and with that you film and make a little story, Im almost sure thast hwat it is.

I think we should also learn other skills that are useful as well learning more hacking may not increase the skills of the 6th grade fitzyg so some ideas might be a bit better

I think we should learn about how a computer works.
We also should have a longer lesson about hacking so that we can be experts at it. We should also do something on photoshop sowe can learn how to edit people or things like that.

Jim- I'm sorry but I forgot to add yet another thing! The new 6th graders should do a typing program. When I started my old school (when I was in third grade) we started a typing program called Paws, which taught us to type with using all of our fingers, then, from 4th grade on, we did a program called Typing Through Time, which was really fun. I left that school this year and I can type without looking and very fast. So, I think the new 6th graders would benefit very much from doing a typing program

I think that next years 6th graders should learn how to hack and how it has been Invented or created.
I would like to try hacking but I am not sure if it would be a good idea; anyways, I ;oved the movie we watched in class on hacking.

i also think we should have touch typing lessons so poeple dont fall bhind when we have to type somethng up . i woul susggest a system called touch masters which helps people with touch typing.

Hey!
Im not quite sure the different things class 6we did the previous semesters but i think it would be really interesting to learn about editing photography and cinematography. We did quite a bit on it at my old school and i really enjoyed it and think our class would enjoy it too.
As the next years 6th grade goes, i think it would be great for them to inquire information on the Hacking beacuse these days alot of children just download or open viruses without knowing it. Its alarming all the unsecure items that are passed through computers so i think since a huge population of the world utelizes the internet, they should know the risks of it all.

I think it would be kl if we learn how to do blind typing! And also could yah learn us how 2 hack into our friends e-mail?? :-P No wait actually don't because than they could hack into my e-mail! I think Kevin Midnick was totally awesome and without him we wouldn't have these kind of computers!!!!!!!
Could U learn us more about different virussus and how to recognise a virus! And see who send us the virus??
I think that 2 many people see hacking as a bad word as I think it is GOOD! it's just like doctors look @ the humanbody to see how it works! Hackers look @ the netwerk 2 see how it works! Doctors help us with their knowledge so than why hackers don't???
