Practice with Positive & Negative Integers
Hi Grade 5,
Here are two activities you can try to practice adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers.
The first one involves a number line from -8 to 8.
The second one is more challenging and has a number line from -16 to 16.
Enjoy!
Grade 5 students acted as curators of an Artifact Museum that was set up in our classrooms. There were 'galleries' from several time periods including Roman, Viking, Tudor and Anglo-Saxon. Students catalogued a range of artifacts and displayed them for parents and the school community to see. Some groups used the artifacts that we collected during our recent ‘archeological expedition’ at the River Thames.
Victorian artifacts on display, including pottery found at the River Thames.
Lower Primary students learn more about the Second World War from replicas of artifacts such as rations booklets, evacuee tags and 'After the Raid' information pamphlets.
Employees at the Aztec table spoke to their visitors in Spanish.
Roman artifacts, including replicas of an oil lamp, pottery and jewellery, were explained by our historical experts.

Grade 5 students spent the afternoon at Westminster yesterday. They took part in a science and humanities lessons. It was very exciting to learn about electricity and work in the science lab! In the humanities class, Mr. Barnett showed us a variety of interesting artefacts that he has collected over the years including a 5000 year old necklace from Ancient Egypt! Have a look at our video to see more!
