some of you have asked for more challenging word problems involving decimals. I have found a few good ones that will involve strategies such as trial and error to solve. Let me know if you are able to solve this problem and how challenging it was.

We came up with some steps for solving word problems involving money in class today.
5G listed the following steps:
-read the problem carefully (more than once if necessary)
-circle or underline the most important information
-decide which operation to use
-solve the problem and check using the inverse operation
-write your answer as a sentence

The students then applied these strategies in class when investigating about financial planning!
