After inquiring into how our use of energy can affect the environment, Grade 5 students thought about how they could make realistic changes related to the use of energy in their homes. They were asked to carry out research and then present a well-structured argument to persuade their parents to implement an energy efficient action at home.

Some of you may have used this site last year during our pollution unit, but it is an interesting way to calculate your 'Carbon Footprint'.
Students had the opportunity to collaborate to construct solar power devices. Afterwards they planned several tests to investigate how solar power works.
