Anthropomorphism

dog.jpg

Today we discussed the Plasticine Stop Frame genre and looked at anthropomorphism.

A good example are the series of Creature Comforts films by Aardman Animation.

Their site includes some examples of scenes from their animation series as well as documentary footage of how the films were made.

Write a design specification

This will involve making written reflections on how your users will be able to access your database of services.

To include
Some broad ideas about how the pointing device you intend to design will work with your database. How your user group will be able to navigate from layout to layout and search for entries (buttons scripts) etc.

If and when you complete that work you should be completing your list of services available to your users.

Grade 8Pl Thursday 9th March 2006

This Morning you will be brainstorming ideas for the computer interface devices you are to create
You should produce a minimum of three annotated drawings each to be inserted into the appropriate section of your folders at the end of the class (I will be checking these).

for Grade 9 Thursday 9th March 2006

You will need to work in pairs negotiating the design specification for your ballistics device.
It is important that you log any important decisions arrived at and make drawings of any new solutions.
Once you arrive at a particular approach you should remember to make clear how you're going to deal with each of the design problems presented
ie. A cocking mechanism?
A trigger mechanism?
How will the device be aimed?
How can the range be changed on the device?
How can the device be made strong enough for all the forces at play?
How will the device be stable enough?

Drawings and evaluations (according to the principles they studied in their research) should be made for each of their ideas in these.
You are expected to explore a range of different ideas in your search for solutions

IT Interfaces Brief

Make a database of services available in London to the specific disability group each of you has selected for your DT interfaces project?

Assume that, like many of your own families, your users need contact details and brief descriptions of the services, and how they're tailored to meet their needs. You also need to place more than one entry for each category (after all disabled people should have as much choice in these as able-bodied).

These services should include:

  • The organisations offering assistance to your disability group

  • Medical

  • Leisure

  • Library services

  • Transport

  • Education (schools, higher education)

  • Sporting

  • Banking

  • Religious

  • Local Authorities

  • Refuse collection and recycling

Any other service specific to your group not just the essentials, everything to make life easier.
