Grade 7: Phone of the Future Brief

This project requires you to create a prototype mobile phone that you imagine will be used in 5-10 years time. You will research into how mobile phone technology has developed and where it is headed.

Guiding question: How reliant are we on our mobile phones today?

For your 'Phone of the Future' project you will be required to do the following.


  • Research what kind of features and shapes mobile phones had 5 years ago

  • Compare your findings with the mobile phones of today. Have the features changed much?

  • Brainstorm what kind of features or shapes the phones of the future will have. Will it play music and videos? Will it connect wirelessly with your refigerator?

After planning we will begin to model our phones in Pro Desktop. Here are some useful websites to help you along the way:
