Information for Students
We are pleased to announce the installation of the "Wikipedia Selection for Schools" as a service now available on southbank.net.
34,500 pictures, 20 million words and articles on more than 5500 topics hosted on each campuses network. The Wikipedia Selection for Schools is a free, hand-checked, non-commercial selection from Wikipedia. This selection of topics has been carefully chosen, tidied up, and checked for suitability by a wide group of Educators.
Look out for the link on individual Campus pages. You can find out more about the Wikipedia Selection for Schools Project here.
Wireless Access
If you're running Mac OSX, Windows XP or Vista, connect with WPA2 Enterprise and supply your Personal Network Credentials.
The wireless access has been transformed at Portland Place and Conway Street. Using the latest Cisco Wireless Access Points and the best available encryption, you'll be able to connect to the Public Wireless network securely. Best of all - you can connect using the same password you use to connect logon to other services on the network.
ePortal
Staff and Students can access information from the Schools' Management Information System (ePortal.) A direct link is always maintained on the front page of this website or you can connect to ePortal directly from here.
When prompted for your username and password, use the same credentials that you use to logon to computers in school.

Installing ProDesktop
To facilitate this, a number of CD's are available in the Library at Portland Place. These can be borrowed overnight under the same arrangement as any other assets from the Library. Please note this Application only runs under Microsoft Windows. We can't support installations off-site, but can offer you some advice on the various issues relating to both Windows Vista and Windows XP.
